BEAUTIFUL B&W BATH

Black and white bathroom with square tiles and a French door

Now this is an adorable white and black bathroom I think...with just the right touches.  Inspiration for my dream bath for sure.

White square tiles on the walls and wet surfaces...a cute small discreet black square tile detail acting as trim of sorts...neatly giving this white bathroom a hint of character. A place to repose...relax...dress...primp...preen...soak...in style.  Doesn't hurt to have the wonderful french door leading out onto the balcony too.  Nice.  Really nice.

FEARLESS HOME DECOR

An all hot pink living room! (above)

Fearless home decorating...would you be able to take the plunge and dive right in and decorate rooms like this?  Makes an incredibly powerful statement...rather playful and fun too.  But could you actually imagine daring yourself to design without fear.

A hot pink living room,  A bathroom bathed in black and white even in the sink bowl basin.

"Wow" is all I can say!

Very eye catching (an understatement really).  A little scary to actually imagine taking design risks like these.  Could you do it?

Are you design daring?  Could you do it?  Please weigh in on comments below.

I wish I had 4 houses.  In one of those houses, I would definitely be fearless (have the decor outlined for the other 3 already!).  As of right now, I simply have one very tiny cottage in the Hollywood Hills...so cannot completely put fears aside...but I can dream.  I would do the black and white bathroom.  Would leave the hot pink living room for my best of friend AM!

Happy Saturday!

BATHROOM MIRRORS LOOKING GOOD

black carved arch mirror bath bathroom sink vanity basin subway tile cococozy

I like a nice framed mirror above a bathroom sink.  An easy way to update a bathroom and change the look.    Lots of great unique mirror options means you can customize your bath decor without too much hassle.  I would opt for a framed mirror over the frameless hardware store version. Do you agree?

Okay, my faves above are the simple round mirrors and the Moroccan style mirror.  Any you like?  Do tell!

SMART DESIGN: CLEVER TRICKS OF THE DESIGN TRADE!

white kitchen with dark wood floor and a stainless steel wall covered in magnets
A stainless steel wall in a bright Seattle kitchen is the perfect place for those magnates you usually see on refrigerator doors! (above)

I was on the website of interior designer Laura Bohn...searching through her portfolio when I came across these three images. Cute fun innovative design ideas.  I like the idea of taking a material or finish that has typically been seen one way and using it differently.  Here are three SMART DESIGNS!  Take a look!

Den with white walls, floating shelves and a fireplace with the fireplace surround painted with chalkboard paint
Chalkboard paint is used every  where these days but I've never seen it used on a fireplace surround...way to warm up the setting with some nice words! (above)

Okay...I have never seen this before...commercial metal shelving - a cart with wheels -  repurposed  into a  bath sink base! (above)
What do you think of these clever design ideas?  Like or dislike?  Can you imagine using any in your home?

I like the stainless steel wall the best I think!

Happy Monday!
