I instagrammed a photo of a few COCOCOZY embroidered pillows in blue yesterday. I love these tones and shades of blue.  From a dark midnight blue, to a blue that reflects the colors in the Aegean, to a softer cornflower blue.  Blue is my color of the day.

KITCHEN WEEK: COLORFUL KITCHENS!

KITCHEN WEEK day 3 here on COCOCOZY!  Today I bring you a few very bright colorful kitchens.   I am afraid of too much color as you probably can tell by the images on the blog...but of course, just the right dose of color can really make a huge design statement.

I actually love all of these colorful kitchens pictured here...but which would I actually dare to live with?  Hmmm...thinking....

Green and blue are the order of the day in this rustic kitchen with a gorgeous zellig tile backsplash and a farmhouse sink. (above)

Do you have a color filled kitchen in your home?  If not, would you consider any of these bright options if you could?  Please do weigh in...

I think I would go for the light blue modern kitchen with the marble slab backsplash if I had to chose one.

KITCHEN WEEK - GEOMETRIC BACKSPLASH!

This week is KITCHEN WEEK on COCOCOZY!  During this week, I'll bring you kitchens I like and some design ideas that you can easily incorporate into your kitchen whether you live in a grand mansion or a cute small city apartment and for all of the houses and homes in between.

First off, on day 1 of KITCHEN WEEK, here is a fab feature wall in this adorable modern small kitchen.  Can't really tell if this is a mosaic tile or wallpaper.  Can you?

Either way, I like the light blue graphic diamond pattern used as a backsplash of sorts behind the sleek white flat front cabinets.  Adds an element of design and visual interest to an otherwise neutral space.

Anyone know where this fab wallpaper or tile comes from?

I think if you have bare walls in your kitchen...using wallpaper might be the easiest way to get this look.  If you are doing a kitchen remodel, why not use a fabulous mosaic tile?  I would!

P.S.  We took the dogs on a little walk yesterday in Manhattan Beach...along the boardwalk.  We also went to breakfast at a cute restaurant (diner) called Martha's.  I'm not a Manhattan Beach type of girl at all (Laguna is more to my liking!), but it was a gorgeous day and everyone was in a good mood and smiling...who can complain!  I know lots of you are buried in snow.  I wish you much sun and warmth!!

P.P.S.  Have a another shoot tonight on set on the Universal lot for my real job.  Should be fun.  Only part that isn't too fun is that shoot starts at 8pm!  Wooohoooo.

P.P.P.S.  Making some big decisions this week...will have you weigh in...has to do with the COCOCOZY textiles collection!  Exciting but not sure!!!

RETREATING TO THE MOUNTAINS!

So best of friend FF invited me and TE to spend a few days with her, her husband and their son (my godson) at her vacation home outside of Vail, CO.  The invite is for some time between Christmas and New Years. Could be kind of fun.  Last I saw FF was in Nantucket this summer.  I miss her and would love to see her.  I have not been to this house/chalet that she and her husband built...but it is apparently quite wonderful.

So when I came upon this picture of this Aspen bedroom...it reminded me I need to decide what I am doing for the holiday week. I like this bedroom...a guest room in an Aspen home I am sure. Complete with exposed beams, fireplace and views of the great outdoors.  I love the pale blue upholstered bed too. So cozy.  Understated.  I like the neutral tones.

I wonder if the guest bedroom in FF's house looks anything like this?  FF said we would have our own "wing" of her Colorado ski house so I wonder what that means. Hmmmm....thinking...I am not a big skier but I love everything about being in a snowy ski town during the winter.  Would be so cozy and holiday!
