SPIKE LEE'S $32 MILLION DOLLAR ESTATE - SEE THIS HOUSE

Here is a peek inside the New York City Upper East Side home reported to be owned by filmmaker/director Spike Lee that is currently on the market for $32 million dollars.

The home located at 153 E. 63rd and it is known as the Hatch House...constructed from stables back in the early 1900s.  The home was gifted to the first owners by the Vanderbilt family and famed burlesque dancer Gypsy Lee Rose is said to have owned it for 3 decades.  Spike Lee bought it in the 1990's for $16 million and is now selling it for twice as much.

The 8200+ square foot home is made up of two buildings surrounding a courtyard.  It features 5 bedrooms, 8 baths, staff quarters and a gym.

This property is listed by Sotheby's Serena Boardman.

It has been reported that the home was owned by famed modern artist Jasper Johns too!  Lots of famous names it seems have lived under this roof.

What do you think?  Would you take it or leave it?  I like the house.  Love the arched windows and the long walkways connecting the two buildings.  I also love the idea of having my own private courtyard right in the middle of New York City.  I'd take it!

SEE THIS HOUSE: A GLEEFUL SPANISH STYLE ABODE FOR HOLLYWOOD PRODUCER RYAN MURPHY!

Hollywood television producer Ryan Murphy opened up his 1927 Spanish Colonial Revival home in the latest issue of entertainment industry trade magazine The Hollywood Reporter.  Ryan is best known in Hollywood for producing hit television shows...he the executive producer of game changers like Glee, American Horror Story, Nip Tuck and New Normal.

Murphy apparently bought the home for about $10 million dollars from actress Diane Keaton.  It is located in the flats of Beverly Hills.

According to the article, Murphy worked with designer Cliff Fong to create interior spaces that were relevant to the architecture and overall vibe of the home.  Reportedly, Murphy is a collector of 1920s and 1930s Monterey Spanish furniture and Bauer pottery among other things.

I like this house...it definitely has a vintage mood and feel to it...I also love the use of dark wood floors (uh oh...this may make me change my mind on my floors again) and the subtly masculine furniture throughout.  I would call this vibe understated elegance with a vintage Spanish twist.  Make sense?

SEE THIS HOUSE: A MODERN HOME RUN - BASEBALL STAR A-ROD'S $38 MILLION DOLLAR MIAMI HOME!

Listed for a mere $38 million dollars by Sothebys International, this Miami mansion is being sold by New York Yankees baseball star Alex Rodriguez (aka A-Rod).

Apparently A-Rod bought this waterfront home a few years back for $24 million...then had it re-done...and now he is selling the nearly 20,000 square foot estate at a premium.

P.S. A side note is that on that t.v. show the X-Factor...they have been using A-Rod's house and calling Simon Cowell's home where he auditions contestants.  It looks great on television!

P.P.S.  Had a fun weekend again...was out every night since Thursday...so I am a little tired.  Last night, I went to dinner at a place in West Hollywood called Laurel Hardware...it is awesome. Also had a nice dinner at Mr. Chow on Friday.  The best and most lovely night of all was on Saturday at Cafe Stella in Silverlake. It was like I was on a restaurant tour of L.A. this weekend!

CELEBRITY ROOMS: A BEVERLY HILLS BATH WITH A STAR STUDDED HOLLYWOOD PAST!

This blue and white tiled bath is in the heart of Beverly Hills.  It is inside a 10,000 square foot Spanish Colonial mansion built by famed architect Wallace Neff back in 1926. Currently the home is listed by Coldwell Banker for over $18 million dollars.

So you might ask...what does this have to do with Hollywood and celebs? Well this home was once owned by actress Diane Keaton and then singer Madonna.  Quite a Hollywood connection I think.

A blue and white tiled bath with a pitched wood ceiling and stand alone tub featured under large wood framed windows. Something vintage about this washing up space. Reminds me of old California. The painted tiles in this bath are apparently from the Tile Guild.  I like.

P.S. Last night I had a lovely dinner with Hilde Leiaghat the owner of three gorgeous Pom Pom Interiors retail stores here in Los Angeles, Santa Monica and Beverly Hills. Hilde, her husband Reza and their son Sam also own Pom Pom At Home - a huge thriving home textiles collection. Hilde not only owns the business but she designs the European chic collection as well. I have admired Hilde's work and her beautiful stores for years. She is a wonderful role model for me as I work to grow the COCOCOZY textiles collection. It has been so nice having someone to talk to about the ins and outs of business. I had such a nice time at dinner! Oh and I am so excited, Hilde is having a big party next month at one of her stores to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Pom Pom. Can't wait to attend!

P.P.S. Also had a good strategy meeting with fab agent SM yesterday. She is really awesome. I went over to her agency's new loft like offices in Beverly Hills. I told SM about some ideas I had for COCOCOZY and she helped me with focusing some of my thoughts. Now, I just have to execute the ideas and make the the thoughts a reality - all before the end of the year! Yikes!  BTW, did I ever even mention that I had an agent ever? I've been working with SM and agent HM since the beginning of the year. They help me by negotiating deals and partnerships on the business side of COCOCOZY. We mostly just catch up on the phone every few weeks but yesterday we took a little time to catch up in person. I felt like I had to look extra cute going over to a Hollywood talent agency and all...I had planned out my outfit the day before but when I tried it on in the morning I thought I looked mish mosh and confusing. So I ended up doing a mad dash dance in and out of clothes and outfits for a half an hour yesterday morning...I changed dresses 4 times and tripped over the dog twice and ended up with another mish mosh outfit and hair that was flat and listless looking. Oy va voy. Needless to say I did not make the Hollywood style entrance into the agency as I had planned...I definitely could have used a little powder on my nose too. Well, looks aren't everything...right? Hello...right? Right. Okay yes. Right.

P.P.P.S. Must run. Have an early meeting at my regular job this morning. It is a meeting/conference call with New York. I know everyone here in the Los Angeles office who will be sitting on the call and I work with them every day so will not have to do the same outfit gymnastics that I did yesterday! Phew. Pressure is off. Woohoo.
