Got this lovely photo shown above in my inbox yesterday - a very nice surprise.

CM, who runs all operations at COCOCOZY Headquarters (HQ) in Beverly Hills, forwarded me an email from our Illinois based customer Jennifer Heffernan.

In the email, Jennifer was sending us a photo of the extra wide armchair she recently upholstered in COCOCOZY Arch fabric!  She had purchased about 5 yards from us awhile back!

It is always such a huge treat for me to see COCOCOZY textiles doing good decor work in any home.

I love this corner of tall windows with a pink blossoming tree in the yard outside.  Great floors, fantastic windows, nice view and a little COCOCOZY in the mix too.  I wouldn't mind having a cup of tea and a good magazine read in this cute corner - so nice!

P.S.  Just got off the phone with my dentist's office.  We were scheduling my next appointment.  As we were getting off the phone, I asked the dental office person if she could email me a confirmation with the date and time...she said without hesitation,"We don't have email". Who doesn't "have email" these days?  Hmmm...perplexing.

P.P.S.  Got a text from best of friend AM last night around 7:30p my time.  She's in NYC and I am in L.A.  Text said "Your pillows are on Bravo".  Of course, I was skeptical...have had way too many aunts and friends call saying "I just saw your pillows on the local news...they were interviewing a lady about her cat being lost and I saw your pillow in the background."  Needless to say...all of these previous calls have been false alarms.  Last night was different.  Leave it to Harvard Business School alum business wiz decorating maven super smart best of friend AM to get it right.  AM was watching a Bravo TV reality show called Newlyweds The First Year.  Guess she was watching the show with her husband JE because she texted from his phone.  Low and behold, in a scene where a couple named Kim and Alaska were shopping at Gracious Home in New York, they picked up a COCOCOZY Logo pillow and were carrying it around!  I recorded the show on my DVR. Woohoo...will try to take a photo of the screen tonight so you can see.

BARE NAKED WINDOWS - THE GREAT DRAPERY DEBATE!

To cover a window or not to cover a window? That is the question.

I go back and forth on this one. I once told my good guy friend BN that drapes, curtains or shades weren't really necessary if you had great windows in your home. He and his wife SN have great windows in their home. Then, with a little of my help, BN and SN had gorgeous plain off white heavy linen curtains custom made for their living room and the space looked so inviting and finished. Hmmm...so much for my window theory.

Here's what I've decided (for now)...if you have large windows with some interesting features either in size or shape, window coverings aren't necessary unless everyone in the world including the guy who lives next door can see in. Does this make sense?

This window has so much trim and so many "lights" in interesting shapes that it would be a shame to  cover it up with drapery. (above)

Curtains or shades would ruin the drama of this fantastic arched window. (above)

Regular windows in a city apartment definitely could use some sort of window covering (in this case roman shades) to finish the space. (above)

P.S.  MY CLOSET RE-DESIGN - Spent the evening at a store last night designing the interior of my closet.  Below the version I bought.  Over $1,200 later, I now have a new closet design that will be installed AFTER I move back into my house in a couple weeks (hint: "after" is the operative word here).  Good planning on my part...right?  Over $1,200 for some rods and wire shelves?  By the way, that does not include installation and delivery...oy va voy. Some might say this is cheap in the greater closet redesign scheme of things...but for me, who has never done a closet...it felt like a lot. Bottom line though after 1.5 hours with a nice lady named Marie at the computer, I gained 4 feet more hanging space in my reach bedroom closet with a little design magic. Woohooo!  Standard reach in closets are about 24" deep...we moved a wall and made my closet (post water damage) now 36" deep...allows for some use of the side walls too!  Can an organized closet design change your life?  I feel like 48" more of hanging space will change mine!

Oddly enough, I have several evening gowns and long dresses.  Am all ready for any black tie event I suppose! So the area on the right is for those. (above0

P.P.S.  Staycationing in Laguna this weekend with TE.  Should be a fun one night getaway!  Can't wait.  I asked him if I could drive his convertible down to Laguna with him as the passenger...he just laughed...I think he questions my driving skills.  I wonder why?  Hmmm. :-)   Even though just staying for one night, packing will be its usual dilemma (especially since the majority of my clothes are in storage)!  Will figure it out I'm sure.  Clearly a "first world problem"...

BREAKFAST NOOK LOOK - BUILT-IN BANQUETTE SEATING!

After seeing the darling eat in kitchen that I showed you in yesterday's post, I've had breakfast nooks on my mind. Now...most normal people have regular life things on their minds...family, friends, love, work, religion, politics, helping others...I've thought about those normal things certainly...but for an entire day or so I have truly been thinking a lot about breakfast nooks. I know...weird...I know...weird. Welcome to my world.

Anyhooo....in yesterday's post, the home owner chose a round table and adorable cafe chairs to make a stunning breakfast nook space off of her kitchen. After I saw that nook, I wanted to scoop it right up and take it home...there is a problem...I do live in a tiny tiny tiny cottage in the Hollywood Hills so I have no space for a proper eat in kitchen dining area...but that nook got me thinking...could I do the same type of nook with built-in bench seating?

Well, if you are doing your kitchen or trying to figure out how to squeeze a table and chairs into a small cove or nook...here are some ideas on banquette seating!

CELEBRITY ROOMS: A BEVERLY HILLS BATH WITH A STAR STUDDED HOLLYWOOD PAST!

This blue and white tiled bath is in the heart of Beverly Hills.  It is inside a 10,000 square foot Spanish Colonial mansion built by famed architect Wallace Neff back in 1926. Currently the home is listed by Coldwell Banker for over $18 million dollars.

So you might ask...what does this have to do with Hollywood and celebs? Well this home was once owned by actress Diane Keaton and then singer Madonna.  Quite a Hollywood connection I think.

A blue and white tiled bath with a pitched wood ceiling and stand alone tub featured under large wood framed windows. Something vintage about this washing up space. Reminds me of old California. The painted tiles in this bath are apparently from the Tile Guild.  I like.

P.S. Last night I had a lovely dinner with Hilde Leiaghat the owner of three gorgeous Pom Pom Interiors retail stores here in Los Angeles, Santa Monica and Beverly Hills. Hilde, her husband Reza and their son Sam also own Pom Pom At Home - a huge thriving home textiles collection. Hilde not only owns the business but she designs the European chic collection as well. I have admired Hilde's work and her beautiful stores for years. She is a wonderful role model for me as I work to grow the COCOCOZY textiles collection. It has been so nice having someone to talk to about the ins and outs of business. I had such a nice time at dinner! Oh and I am so excited, Hilde is having a big party next month at one of her stores to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Pom Pom. Can't wait to attend!

P.P.S. Also had a good strategy meeting with fab agent SM yesterday. She is really awesome. I went over to her agency's new loft like offices in Beverly Hills. I told SM about some ideas I had for COCOCOZY and she helped me with focusing some of my thoughts. Now, I just have to execute the ideas and make the the thoughts a reality - all before the end of the year! Yikes!  BTW, did I ever even mention that I had an agent ever? I've been working with SM and agent HM since the beginning of the year. They help me by negotiating deals and partnerships on the business side of COCOCOZY. We mostly just catch up on the phone every few weeks but yesterday we took a little time to catch up in person. I felt like I had to look extra cute going over to a Hollywood talent agency and all...I had planned out my outfit the day before but when I tried it on in the morning I thought I looked mish mosh and confusing. So I ended up doing a mad dash dance in and out of clothes and outfits for a half an hour yesterday morning...I changed dresses 4 times and tripped over the dog twice and ended up with another mish mosh outfit and hair that was flat and listless looking. Oy va voy. Needless to say I did not make the Hollywood style entrance into the agency as I had planned...I definitely could have used a little powder on my nose too. Well, looks aren't everything...right? Hello...right? Right. Okay yes. Right.

P.P.P.S. Must run. Have an early meeting at my regular job this morning. It is a meeting/conference call with New York. I know everyone here in the Los Angeles office who will be sitting on the call and I work with them every day so will not have to do the same outfit gymnastics that I did yesterday! Phew. Pressure is off. Woohoo.
