MODERN HOME OFFICE - DESIGNER ROOM RECREATE

Home office by Jenny Wolf with Charcoal grey walls, wallpapered ceiling, modern furnishings, a gallery wall and a COCOCOZYpillow

Love this little home office by New York interior designer Jenny Wolf.  Dark charcoal gray walls, a wallpapered ceiling, modern furnishings, a feature gallery wall and a little COCOCOZY thrown into the mix!

The wall color is Wrought Iron by Benjamin Moore and the ultra modern light gray sofa is from Bo Concept.  I like the contrast of gray on gray.

Thought I would bring back the DESIGNER ROOM RECREATE series for this one!

TALE OF A TWO TONED KITCHEN

Farmhouse style kitchen with grey and white color blocked walls, pine wood floors, rattan furniture and white pendant lights
A color blocked kitchen in gray and white! (above)
Oooohhh...I like this modern farm style open floor plan kitchen, den, dining room from Dan Scotti Design.  Two toned walls and cabinets make a huge design statement.  I love the high ceilings, charcoal gray wood paneling and the clerestory windows.  So much light but effectively incorporates a rich dark color.

So many styles mixed in one space but they work...the farmhouse style feeling kitchen with its gray (maybe soapstone counters), the rustic country knotty pine wide plank wood floors, the Palm Beach like rattan furniture in the den and then the mid century dining table and Hans Wegner chairs in the dining room.  Doesn't feel like all  of those styles should work together but they do.

Nice, bright, airy, convivial space.  Perfect for cooking big meals and inviting lots of people over.

The kitchen island features gray soapstone counters and white cabinet doors framed in a light gray....love the see-through glass door refrigerator too! (above)

So what do you think of this two toned kitchen?  Like or dislike?  What might you add to it or take away.

I would leave it as is...although I might change out the round pendant lights...not sure but I might.

Happy Wednesday.

PANEL PERFECT DIY LIVING ROOM - BEFORE & AFTER

DIY living room Chris Loves Julia black paneled wall modern

Discovered an interiors blog this weekend called Chris Loves Julia.  When looking at my blog traffic statistics, I noticed that a few people were clicking to my blog from theirs.  So I had to check out it out.

Turns out the blog is about a couple who does DIY projects on their home.  Hats off to anyone who can take on do-it-yourself home improvement projects and see them all the way through!

One of the projects this couple took on was transforming their living room.  The after is this dark paneled living room above.  It seems, the couple (Chris & Julia) got some inspiration from this photo I had posted below awhile back on dark rooms!

The couple wanted to make a dramatic statement in their then lavender living room...they bought the supplies and then did it themselves...see the transformation below.

BEFORE - Chris & Juia's living room - neutral with a graphic rug and a lavender or purple feature wall (above)

DURING - The couple took it upon themselves to create their own high design paneled wall...it started with painting the wall  a matte finish charcoal gray then framing out paneling with wood boards. (above)

AFTER - The white sofa now pops against the dramatic dark wood paneled wall! (above)
What do you think about this wall before and after?  Do you like the end result?  I do.  I think it is fantastic!

The project took them two days and cost $117!  Nice work Chris & Julia.

Happy Monday!

TWO FACED ROOM

double glass french interior doors den living room charcoal gray wall apartment home decor

Cute modern den with mid century touches...charcoal gray wall on one side and white painted walls with windows on the other.  One side is moody (in a good way) and warm, the other is bright and cheerful.

One room...two faces...didn't know rooms could change moods so easily!

Face #1 - Charcoal gray wall makes a the den feel quite cozy! (above)

Face #2 - White walls and curtainless windows make the other side of this room feel bright and light. (above)

Do you think this two toned look works in this apartment decor? Like or dislike?

Happy Friday!

COCOCOZY ARCH FABRIC SITS PRETTY!

upholstered armchair arm chair sitting area reading nook tall windows garden view COCOCOZY Arch fabric charcoal gray
COCOCOZY textiles on a chair in a corner window in Illinois! (above)

Got this lovely photo shown above in my inbox yesterday - a very nice surprise.

CM, who runs all operations at COCOCOZY Headquarters (HQ) in Beverly Hills, forwarded me an email from our Illinois based customer Jennifer Heffernan.

In the email, Jennifer was sending us a photo of the extra wide armchair she recently upholstered in COCOCOZY Arch fabric!  She had purchased about 5 yards from us awhile back!

It is always such a huge treat for me to see COCOCOZY textiles doing good decor work in any home.

I love this corner of tall windows with a pink blossoming tree in the yard outside.  Great floors, fantastic windows, nice view and a little COCOCOZY in the mix too.  I wouldn't mind having a cup of tea and a good magazine read in this cute corner - so nice!

Well done Jennifer!

Thank you Jennifer for sharing your photo!  You made my day!

To all of you COCOCOZY textile devotees, if you have a photo of your COCOCOZY pillow, throw, fabric, drapery or home accessories in scene at your house, please send me a picture at cococozy@cococozy.com.  I would love to see!

Happy Tuesday!

P.S.  Just got off the phone with my dentist's office.  We were scheduling my next appointment.  As we were getting off the phone, I asked the dental office person if she could email me a confirmation with the date and time...she said without hesitation,"We don't have email". Who doesn't "have email" these days?  Hmmm...perplexing.

P.P.S.  Got a text from best of friend AM last night around 7:30p my time.  She's in NYC and I am in L.A.  Text said "Your pillows are on Bravo".  Of course, I was skeptical...have had way too many aunts and friends call saying "I just saw your pillows on the local news...they were interviewing a lady about her cat being lost and I saw your pillow in the background."  Needless to say...all of these previous calls have been false alarms.  Last night was different.  Leave it to Harvard Business School alum business wiz decorating maven super smart best of friend AM to get it right.  AM was watching a Bravo TV reality show called Newlyweds The First Year.  Guess she was watching the show with her husband JE because she texted from his phone.  Low and behold, in a scene where a couple named Kim and Alaska were shopping at Gracious Home in New York, they picked up a COCOCOZY Logo pillow and were carrying it around!  I recorded the show on my DVR. Woohoo...will try to take a photo of the screen tonight so you can see.

TREND ALERT: TWO TONED SOFAS!

television tv room with dueling two toned sofas, white wood slat ceiling, fireplace, animal skin rug with a wood side table
A small t.v. room - dueling white sofas with tan velvet seat and back cushions. (above)
I'm liking this trend...two toned sofas.

Take a white sofa and make the seat cushion (perhaps the back cushion too) just a tinge darker in a neutral tone. It is almost color blocking on sofas using the cushions!

I like this look.

What do you think of this trend of two toned sofas...do you like or dislike? Is this a trend you can see incorporating into your own home?

Happy Friday!
