BLACK & WHITE OF GOOD BEDROOM DECOR!

emmas blogg se's black and white bedroom with floating books display, low bed, white wood floor and a large flower lamp

Like everything about this space. The white walls and floor, the bed draped in simple clean bedding, the floating bookshelves filled with all things and books black and white, and the signature Artichoke pendant light to top everything off. Nice.

Happy Thursday!

TREND ALERT: TWO TONED SOFAS!

television tv room with dueling two toned sofas, white wood slat ceiling, fireplace, animal skin rug with a wood side table
A small t.v. room - dueling white sofas with tan velvet seat and back cushions. (above)
I'm liking this trend...two toned sofas.

Take a white sofa and make the seat cushion (perhaps the back cushion too) just a tinge darker in a neutral tone. It is almost color blocking on sofas using the cushions!

I like this look.

What do you think of this trend of two toned sofas...do you like or dislike? Is this a trend you can see incorporating into your own home?

Happy Friday!

DESIGN IDEA: BACK IT UP IN THE KITCHEN!

close up of kitchen with blue and white stripped backsplash with white floating shelves

I like what Australian design firm Doherty & Lynch did with the backsplashes in these two kitchens.

In the first, they painted a kitchen wall with a blue ombre style stripe on the wall and then installed floating shelves. In the second kitchen below, black and white graphic wallpaper is applied to the wall and then covered with either clear plexi or glass.

Both have big visual impact and are very unique.

Good DESIGN IDEA in my view. Take a look.

What do you think of these desing ideas for backplashes? Like or dislike?

Happy Tuesday!
