SMALL BOATHOUSE WITH BIG COTTAGE CHARM

Am partial to cottages.  I live in one.  Guess I should be partial.  I am also partial to waterfront homes.  I wish I had one.

I am also partial to champagne, sparkling headbands and jewelry, large mansions, ice cream sandwiches, quinoa, finding ways to be skinny without much effort, Rag & Bone jean leggings,  my sister, the silver pig that sits in my office, the James Perse jacket/sweatshirt/blazer cute thing I wear all of the time, there's more...uhmmm...but I'm sure you would be bored beyond belief...so many things I am partial to but I digress (as usual).

Back to being partial to cottages and waterfront homes.  Imagine my delight when I saw this cute little summer home right on the water somewhere in Canada.  Charming. A cottage from the front...and a waterfront boathouse from the back.

Not sure I would want to live here day in and day out but I would love to spend a weekend in this charmer.  Benignly rustic and definitely cute.

BEVERLY HILLS HOTEL BEAUTIFUL - SCENES FROM A WEEKEND AFTERNOON

Had two lunches this past Sunday.  That's all I need.  Two lunches in one day when I am trying to get in shape for a beach vacation!?!? Well it was a long weekend...so who cares...right????

Let's see...the first lunch/brunch was at the Soho House with friends JTH and LH who were visiting from New York.  Soho House is a private club I belong to...it is gorgeous.  I wish I could take pictures of the Soho House spaces but it is not allowed - I don't want to get kicked out...I think even mentioning the Soho House in this post is risky...there is a no blogging rule! Note to self...stop mentioning the Soho House - just don't do it...stop. So... I took JTH and LH to the "club's" Sunday brunch.   JTH and LH were just married in December.  I couldn't make the wedding but I had so much fun catching up with them.  Met them at noon, we had a mimosa, brunch and a great conversation and was in my car by 1:50pm.

Second lunch was at the Beverly Hills Hotel with TE. I told him I would meet him at 1:45p. Needless to say I was about 15 minutes late to meet him.  You might ask...why wasn't TE at the first brunch?  Well TE is prepping for a marathon - so he did a 13 mile run while I was having my first meal and then he wanted me to join him for lunch a little later.  Who am I to say no to an afternoon date?  So, I went to both brunch and lunch in one day!

TE and I decided to have lunch at the pool restaurant at The Beverly Hills Hotel.  It was just lovely. The walk to the pool through the hotel grounds was so scenic, I couldn't help but take a million photos on my phone.  I had a skinny margarita, a side of fresh fruit and...wait for it...yes...a few french fries! I couldn't believe that I was eating again!  ARRRGHHHHH...

Anyhooo...double dining remorse aside...the afternoon at the hotel with TE was lovely.  Here are a few scenes from Sunday!

P.S. Atlanta Market Update - So relieved...I got a hotel room for my one night stay in Atlanta. I am going to Atlanta for the Atlanta Home Furnishings Market this week! I am going to show our COCOCOZY collection to buyers and to introduce a brand new collection as well. I was afraid I wasn't going to find a room. Lucky for me I'll be staying again at the Ritz Carlton downtown. It is the only hotel in Atlanta that I have found I like. I am very very picky about hotels fyi...!! :-)

P.P.S. NEW COCOCOZY -  Here is another one of our new lucite trays we are introducing at the Atlanta Market.  This color is actually somewhere between a peacock and turquoise blue...a fun cute decorative tray!

BEACH COTTAGE COOL!

I love this little beach house featured in this month's House Beautiful.   A house apparently transformed from an ordinary stucco into an open and airy space fitting for seaside living.  The house re-imagined by designer Peter Dunham.  He used lots of natural materials as accents throughout the home - wicker, rush, abaca and rope.  Fresh, bright, cheerful and accessible.  I wouldn't mind cozying up here!

What do you think of this cute cottage?  Anything you like here.  I love the entry with the fretwork banister and I love the breakfast dining area with the banquette seating.

COCOCOZY EXCLUSIVE: TRADITIONAL HOME'S NAPA VALLEY SHOWHOUSE REVEALED!

Hello! Another exclusive preview in one week. Whoa...this is exciting! I am so happy to be bringing you readers so many first looks at these wonderful projects!

Today, I bring you an exclusive preview of Traditional Home Magazine's Napa Valley Showhouse!

The house is located at the Cardinale Winery Estate in Oakville, California.  Wish I could sprint up there today to take a look and go to the gala opening.  Well, in lieu of me bouncing up to the wine country and bay area..I bring you photos of this lovely show home.

The theme of the show house is a fresh take on Napa style. Modern rustic style maybe.  Well instead of talking about it...I'll show you. Enough from me...let the pictures do the talking. So here you go!

The living room is designed by Annie Bowman of Sunrise Home.  It features neutral warm tones and a polished rustic decor - signature of Napa Valley style. (above)

Joe Lucas and Parrish Chilcoat of Lucas Studios combined texture and high style into the home's dining room.  Love those wicker chairs and notice the peacock in the corner! (above and below)

Designer Barbara Colvin took on the great room and the adjacent open kitchen.  A comfortable relaxing space for casual family gathering. (above and below)

Great chartreuse provide an pop of electric color against the dark gray cabinetry in the kitchen. (above)

Coral and light blue are the colors of choice in this comfy and warm guest bedroom designed by Melanie Coddington. (above and below)

P.P.P.S.  If you can believe it, I am in a mad dash to get so much done this week in preparation for the COCOCOZY Collection new products and announcements for 2013.  I am behind.  I have scheduled a photo shoot for December 15th and do not have an ounce of new product ready...and it takes weeks to get everything done. I do have lots of cool new designs that I've been drawing up and working on.  Am excited for those.  So to break it down...as of right now, we'll have at least two new product lines/partnerships coming out in 2013 and many more original designs for the flagship collection.  I am so thrilled to be working with my new partners on these projects.  Can't talk about what's coming up just yet...but you know me...I'll be gabbing as soon as I can!  I'm also working on another exciting digital project for next year.  Need another me to help me with all I have to do.  Help.

SNEAK PEEK: A NAPA HOME WORTH SHOWING OFF!

Am thrilled once again! Got an email from Traditional Home Magazine editor Kari C. the other day. Kari invited me to tour Traditional Home's Napa Showhouse that is opening up in Northern California. The gala party at the house is tomorrow. Unfortunately, I will not be able to make it.

Kari was kind enough though to give me the exclusive preview on some of the rooms from the home!!  Another exclusive...wow!

Photographer John Merkl took the photos of the showhouse and I'll share just a few of those photos tomorrow on COCOCOZY.

For now, here is a glimpse of the balcony off of the main living and the fabulous views of Napa wine country.  I don't really drink wine but would love to have a home overlooking a vineyard.  I like this little outdoor living room with its wicker furniture and rust colored accessories.  Simple and allows for the view to steal the show!

THIS OR THAT: POISED PORCHES!

So I've just arrived in Atlanta late last night...am here to show the COCOCOZY home furnishings collection to buyers at the Atlanta Gift & Home Furnishings Market. Please come on by to the Christian Mosso Associates Showroom (my Atlanta home away from home) in the America's Mart Building 1 on the 9th Floor to say hi! I'd love to see you. Come see the collection too!

Well, anyhooo...am happy to be here in Atlanta again. Everyone is usually so nice here.

On the plane ride over, I sat next to a woman who is going to be on a new reality show for AMC (some show about a small town private investigating/security firm).  I was tired and wanted to sleep but this woman just kept chatting and chatting and chatting (more than I chat and chat and chat).  I think her name is Christa.  She said she is the secretary at her company but is a private investigator in training.  This Christa was saying the funniest most amusing things throughout the entire flight...she was so excited about her show being on t.v. starting this Sunday and how AMC was treating her and the group like real stars... and she was bubbling about having gone to Los Angeles for the first time in her life...and showing another guy clips of her show...she tracked the flight the whole way over saying things like "we have a good tailwind, I think we're gettin there an hour early"...and Christa spent some time trying to get the stewardess to communicate a message to her mother ( "She's the one in the middle back there with the teased up blonde hair that's real high...she teases her hair you know...you can't miss her").  By the end of the 4.5 hour flight, she had charmed me and the other man in my row and we were all smiles. Christa was very funny and amusing...she had tons of Southern charm.

Now, speaking of Southern charm...there are many things that remind me of the South and southern charm and one of those things is a lovely lovely porch. And that brings us to today's post.

Two porches...lovely indeed...both with a bit of black wicker furniture.  The one above includes some antique rattan chairs too.  The color scheme on both seem to be a bit of black and white...with black shutters and doors.  One has a white wood floor...the other tile.  Nice outdoor living in both cases I think...but which one is best?

The question in today's THIS OR THAT is...which of these two porches do you prefer?  Take a look.

I'm not going to be much help here...I like each porch for different reasons. I like the first porch just because it is so elegant and tastefully done...I like the second porch because it is cozy and accessible looking and I like the built in bench.

P.P.P.S. Am staying at the Ritz Carlton here in Atlanta...finally I think I've found the right hotel for me here...this is my 4th visit to Atlanta and I've made bad hotel selections each time.  This morning woke up to a nice room...and friendly service...I am a happy camper.

P.P.P.P.S. Think I will wear some sparkling Prada mules (I know mules are not at all on trend but the sparkle part is so I continue to wear them...I don't know anyone who wears mules anymore...it is a very early 2000s shoe style...fashion police do not arrest me please) to the showroom today. They are dangerous though. The other day I was running around Beverly Hills picking up some last minute items from COCOCOZY HQ and the sparkles on my Pradas grazed my leg leaving me with a nice little cut! Well...it's the price we pay to look good. My motto is ... I may be bruised and battered by fashion but at least I'll be sparkling. Carry on.
