COCOCOZY EMBROIDERED PILLOWS IN STOCK

COCOCOZY Embroiderd Pillows in Loop, Maroc, Birdcage Toile, Kip and COCOCOZY Light
COCOCOZY Embroidered Pillow Collection from $90-$120 (above)
I am very happy to bring you my latest line of pillows...ready for your picking at the COCOCOZY Shop now.

The COCOCOZY Embroidered Collection has been super popular. It seems COCOCOZY devotees were definitely in the mood for some embroidered textiles!  For those of you who have not shopped COCOCOZY yet, the good news is these embroidered pillows range in price from $90-$120!

I developed this new embroidered collection of linen pillows under a license deal with Peking Handicraft.  Spent some time designing, picking colors and reviewing samples for this project.  It was so much fun working on this new collection with a partner who knows how to manufacture and distribute home furnishings.

The embroidered pillow collection launched this past summer to the wholesale market and I wrote a post with full details on how this license deal came about back in July.

These new embroidered pillows are imported.  That means the some are priced under $100.

We still proudly offer our equally popular high end made-in-the-U.S. popular luxury COCOCOZY Classic Linen pillows - these luxury classic signature COCOCOZY pillows are carefully custom-made-to-order here in Los Angeles (on U.S. soil).  Think of the luxury collection as our base that will never go away.  These styles have become COCOCOZY classics and they way we design and craft the COCOCOZY Classic Linen pillows makes that collection a timeless designer must-have statement for the home.

Back to the embroidered pillows - the fun, fashionable and affordable line. 20"x20", down filled, embroidered, linen, in six designs...in a variety of colors including a lemon yellow, bright orange, mint green and more.

I really like the black and gray collection embroidered on a darker natural linen pictured below - perfect for fall. Of course, I love the blues and there is a very special gray color in the mix.

Please check out the entire COCOCOZY embroidered collection here.  Hope you find something you like!

Am already working with Peking Handicraft on developing the embroidered pillow collection for 2014 if you can believe it.  Next year, the collection includes never before seen COCOCOZY designs, lots of saturated colors, a cheerful bold group of accent pillows.  Can't wait for the 2014 collection.

In the meantime, enjoy your browse of this collection! Let me know which ones you like best and where you might put in your home.  Let the shopping begin!

Happy Wednesday.

ARTIST BRIAN WILLS & MY LIVING ROOM ART

Art by Brian Wills in Coco of COCOCOZY's living room with a white sofa with brown piping
Untitled Brian Wills art in my living room! (above)

When I put up photos of my living room the other day to get your thoughts on my new COCOCOZY Fence rug, I didn't even think about describing some of the pieces in my living room including the large turquoise painting over my sofa.  Well besides the size of the rug, it was the most commented on piece from my living room in my little cottage in the Hollywood Hills.  I received dozens of emails and a few Facebook comments asking about the origin of the art in my living room.

Well today, I'll give you the scoop.  The work is by the super talented Los Angeles based artist Brian Wills. Brian's work is abstract, linear, modern and fresh. I am truly a huge fan of what he does.

Back in 2003 (I think), my sister and mother gave me the gift of art.  Back then, my sister had been introduced to an up and coming Los Angeles artist named Brian Wills.  She had acquired a few of his pieces. At Christmas (or my birthday...I can't recall), she and my mother felt I needed art in my living room so they gave me a Brian Wills much to my delight.  Well...me being me...so picky...way too picky...while I loved the piece they picked out for me, I wanted to see what else Brian was working on.  I remember, it was a cloudy day in December (or January...oh dear...can't remember anything), and I went to his studio (I may or may have not been with my sister...or I may have been by myself...I have no memory past yesterday...oy va voy).   I walked into the artist's studio, introduced myself to Brian and was thrilled to see there were lots of works in progress.  It was so cool to go into an artist's work space and in a way to see what and how he was thinking through his works in progress.  I spotted this turquoise piece in a corner and I immediately said "I want that one".  It is a huge wood piece...about 4ft x 6ft in size...it is made up of small painted strips of wood...lined up to create a visual staccato of sorts...there is a rhythm to his work that I just love. About a week later after my studio visit, Brian came and delivered the work to my house himself and he installed it...and it has been basically hanging in the same place ever since.  I love it!

Brian's new pieces pictured here range from $7000-$16,000 each.  There are other pieces in his collection not pictured here that start at about $2000 each. An investment well worth it!

P.S. Tomorrow, am so excited...I am going back to Brian Wills' studio for a visit with the artist and to see his latest works!  A private visit.  Woohooo!!   I have invited TE along...he might bring EE.  I am going to see if my sis and my mother want to come too!  Anyone else??? :-)

P.P.S. Must run!  Have a great day!  Still haven't solved my dilemma of what I will wear to the black-tie-wedding.  I tried on a black Herve Leger dress I own last night...one of those bandage dresses...super tight...must do tons of sit ups and not eat for a week to look good in that...back to the drawing board!!!

BEVERLY HILLS HOTEL BEAUTIFUL - SCENES FROM A WEEKEND AFTERNOON

Outdoor sitting area white outdoor lounge chair with white cushions with pink piping round woven coffee table umbrella

Had two lunches this past Sunday.  That's all I need.  Two lunches in one day when I am trying to get in shape for a beach vacation!?!? Well it was a long weekend...so who cares...right????

Let's see...the first lunch/brunch was at the Soho House with friends JTH and LH who were visiting from New York.  Soho House is a private club I belong to...it is gorgeous.  I wish I could take pictures of the Soho House spaces but it is not allowed - I don't want to get kicked out...I think even mentioning the Soho House in this post is risky...there is a no blogging rule! Note to self...stop mentioning the Soho House - just don't do it...stop. So... I took JTH and LH to the "club's" Sunday brunch.   JTH and LH were just married in December.  I couldn't make the wedding but I had so much fun catching up with them.  Met them at noon, we had a mimosa, brunch and a great conversation and was in my car by 1:50pm.

Second lunch was at the Beverly Hills Hotel with TE. I told him I would meet him at 1:45p. Needless to say I was about 15 minutes late to meet him.  You might ask...why wasn't TE at the first brunch?  Well TE is prepping for a marathon - so he did a 13 mile run while I was having my first meal and then he wanted me to join him for lunch a little later.  Who am I to say no to an afternoon date?  So, I went to both brunch and lunch in one day!

TE and I decided to have lunch at the pool restaurant at The Beverly Hills Hotel.  It was just lovely. The walk to the pool through the hotel grounds was so scenic, I couldn't help but take a million photos on my phone.  I had a skinny margarita, a side of fresh fruit and...wait for it...yes...a few french fries! I couldn't believe that I was eating again!  ARRRGHHHHH...

Anyhooo...double dining remorse aside...the afternoon at the hotel with TE was lovely.  Here are a few scenes from Sunday!

What do you think of this pretty pink hotel? Have you ever been? It truly is someplace to see if you come visit Los Angeles.

P.S. Atlanta Market Update - So relieved...I got a hotel room for my one night stay in Atlanta. I am going to Atlanta for the Atlanta Home Furnishings Market this week! I am going to show our COCOCOZY collection to buyers and to introduce a brand new collection as well. I was afraid I wasn't going to find a room. Lucky for me I'll be staying again at the Ritz Carlton downtown. It is the only hotel in Atlanta that I have found I like. I am very very picky about hotels fyi...!! :-)

P.P.S. NEW COCOCOZY -  Here is another one of our new lucite trays we are introducing at the Atlanta Market.  This color is actually somewhere between a peacock and turquoise blue...a fun cute decorative tray!

P.P.P.S.  ATLANTA LOCATION - Please stop by the Christian Mosso Associates (CMA) Showroom in Building #1, 9th Floor of America's Mart to say hi if you are going to market.  I would love to meet you.  I'll be in the showroom on Friday and Saturday.  You can also see our bedding collection there!

APARTMENT DECORATING - 1000 SQUARE FEET IN SWEDEN!

A white bedroom with a mix of old and new. (above)

This cute one bedroom apartment is located in Linnéstaden, Sweden. It was recently on the market but was snapped up understandably. Bright, cheerful and light is how I would describe the interior design. White walls, white floors, lots of natural sun light. The decor fits the setting. Not too important, very easy, both modern and classic at the same time. I like!

Love the printed fabric wall hanging that acts as a headboard of sorts over the bed. (above)

Smart use of space with cute storage boxes on top of a white armoire wardrobe. (above)

Lots of pillows on a gray sofa and framed posters make for easy living room decor - and don't forget an Eames chair classic! (above)

White wood floors throughout the apartment and in the dining room help add to the cheerful feel. (above)

What do you think of this little flat?  Do you think it needs a little more decorating or is it just right?

Happy Friday!

P.S. Was sitting at the office the other day at my real job - minding my own business - and these lovelies arrived. From the very nice TE. He is very thoughtful and sweet. Once they came, every girl I work with ran into my office...they were all cooing, oooohing and aaahhing. We then staged a mini photo shoot with the flowers where all of the girls were texting and putting them on Instagram. Got so caught up in "flowerpalooza", I forgot to text TE a thank you right away! Flowers...they do the trick every time.

Lovely flowers and my silver pig at my office. (above)

P.P.S.  Allegedly, I am doing a 5K tomorrow.  Okay...strike the allegedly.  I am doing a 5K tomorrow?  Okay strike the question mark.  I am doing a 5K tomorrow!

P.P.P.S.  Have a great weekend!

BEDROOM DESIGN FIND: RED CHINESE CHIPPENDALE HEADBOARD!

red headboard bed bedroom design chinese chippendale chinoiserie style
Smith & Watson - Queen Chinese Chippendale Fretwork Headboard - $10030 (Red fretted headboard. Mahogany.  Glossy lacquer finish) (above)

I like this headboard. A mahogany lacquered Chinoiserie headboard. Would certainly make a bright statement in a bedroom. If I were designing around this headboard, I would keep the rest of the decor in the bedroom simple. Pale gray walls, crisp all white bedding, a few lucite nightstands, simple white milk glass table lamps with shades with just a tiny thin barely perceptible red trim around the bottom.

Could be cute.

Oh, this is definitely not a piece do to be taken lightly. You would definitely have to commit...it is over $10,000! So you have to really love it and know you are going to love it for years...maybe even decades!

Is this statement headboard something you could live with for years and years and love? What do you think?

CUTE NURSERY - BABY ROOM DESIGN!

I like this baby room decor.  A notable nursery in my book.  The peach, blues, gold and white color scheme works too.  I love this gold rose patterned wall paper.  Tres cute.

Simple interior design here.  A nice white crib...a light blue chair and ottoman, peach drapes and a Moroccan inspired pattern navy rug.

P.S.  This past weekend, TE and I got away for a staycation at the Montage Laguna.  It was only about an hour drive from Los Angeles, but for some reason it felt like we were worlds away.  The grounds were just beautiful, the weather was great, the room was nice and the service was impeccable (everyone who worked there was smiling and friendly ALL of the time).  We got there Saturday and hung out by the spa pool before our room was ready for check in and then we left Sunday with a very late check out.  It was fantastic!

BROOKLYN BOUND - A 1200 SQUARE FOOT DUMBO LOFT GETS A $100,000 UPDATE!

Anne Maxwell's nyc loft apartment den with pink lawson fenning chairs, wood floors, and a barn door

This Brooklyn loft belongs to Anne Maxwell Foster, a co-owner in the interior design firm Tilton Fenwick. It was featured on the New York Times website recently.

Maxwell Foster and her husband bought the 1200 square foot 1 bedroom apartment that is located in Dumbo section of Brooklyn for $885,000 last March and then spent almost 3 months updating the space.

The renovation included adding interior barn doors to, transforming a small office into the master bedroom, tearing out the kitchen counters and replacing with Caesarstone quartz counters and changing out cabinet doors...they even transformed a large walk in closet that had a window into a nursery.

After the bones of the space had been renovated...the decorating began.  The designers' goal was to create an inviting atmosphere.

Here's what the updated apartment looks like.

Anne Maxwell's colorful NYC loft apartment's living room with a gray Kravet Medley sofa, armchairs, two side tables with matching ceramic lamps and an Oscar de la Renta coffee table
For the living room, they chose a Kravet Medley Sofa ($5,200), the armchairs were $800 for two on eBay (about $800 and the coffee table is a $6000 Oscar de la Renta piece.

Gilded Octagon Mirror by Wisteria
Wisteria - Gilded Octagon Mirror - $229 (30"diameter.  Wood frame) (above)

BEVERLY HILLS TUDOR HOME REVIVED!

Front exterior of a Beverly Hills Tudor style home by Betsy Burnham

A Beverly Hills Tudor style home made bright and cheerful by Los Angeles based interior designer Betsy Burnham.

Tudor homes sometimes have a darker more heavy feel to the decor - full of tradition and wood paneling I think.   Not this home.  With walls painted a bright white and an eclectic introduction of textiles, upholstery and wallpaper in muted tones of grays, blues, corals and lavenders, this home feels nothing like your run of the mill tudor!

Living room in Tudor style home with gray sofas with purple accent pillows, statuette lamps and a piano
The gray upholstered furniture in the living room gets a bit of color with wonderful purple cushions.  Also love the statuette lamps on the console. (above)

What I like about this house is that it seems comfortable, livable and well designed.  Not too over the top in the decor but just enough to show a bit of personality and style.  Like.  Like a lot.

Happy Wednesday!

P.S. Picked up my dog Mr. Boo yesterday (see previous post) from the surgery hospital and took him over to the vet who will nurse him back to health over the next two weeks.  He looked so sad and tired after his surgery! Poor guy.

P.P.S.  Headed to the theater tonight to see a play.  So excited.

P.P.P.S.  Must also make it up to my little cottage in the Hollywood Hills today to see how construction is progressing and to talk about the floors.  My mom and my sis DS are worried that I am not moving things along quick enough...so today...we're going to get the project moving!!!

P.P.P.P.S.  Have a great day!

P.P.P.P.P.S.  Thank you to fab designer Joe Lucas owner of Harbinger showroom for the tip on the master bedroom wallpaper source.
