FIREPLACE MANTLES - THIS OR THAT

Was reading an article on Vogue's website the other day. It is about a townhouse in New York owned by documentary filmmaker Maggie Betts.  Maggie invited former first daughter Barbara Bush and friend Elliot Merck to live in two of the apartments as well.  The each created unique living spaces in a city home with unifying architectural features.

The NYC townhouse features 9 original fireplaces...all unique.  Each apartment has at least one noteworthy ornately carved stone fireplace mantle.

So which of these three fireplace looks do you like best?

Green blue paint form Farrow & Ball, a large painted mirror, and a Swedish crystal chandelier
Fireplace mantle 2 - Eclectic - Green Blue paint from Farrow & Ball on the walls, a large painted mirror, a Swedish crystal chandelier in the reflection. (above)

living room with lavender walls, a black mirror, framed portraits of Diego Rivera and Frieda Kahlo, and a marble fireplace mantel with a black and white skull
Fireplace Mantle #3 - World Traveler - Lavender walls, a tall black mirror, framed portraits of artists Frieda Kahlo and Diego Rivera, and a Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) black and white skull adorn the mantle of former first daughter Barbara Bush. (above)
I am loving Fireplace 2 - Eclectic.  I love the wall color, the grand painted mirror, the small painting leaning against the mirror that is framed by a large modern painting on an opposing wall.  Like!

P.S. Have been helping best of friend AM with her holiday card choices this year.  Every year she sends me photos and layouts for her holiday card.  She finalized the look on Tuesday and ordered.  Then yesterday she and I went at it again on designing another second card look.  When she sent the new card to her husband JE, he wrote us both back and said "Looks great. But I thought this was finalized already?"  Oh JE!  He just doesn't understand that girls like us could deliberate over things like this forever!

P.P.S.  Going to another work dinner with TE tonight.  Must find something that is cute, festive, and business.  Got to run to pick out outfit and to chat on the phone with London best of friend AT (we are cooking up something...a plan...).

P.P.P.S.  COCOCOZY Online Shop 20% off sale ends today - Today is the last day for the 20% off sale on the COCOCOZY Online Shop.  If you have been coveting a COCOCOZY pillow, throw, lucite tray, candle or anything else...now is the time!  Happy Holidays!

SEE THIS HOUSE: APARTMENT FOR SALE - $27 MILLION DOLLAR HIGH RISE DESIGN!

$27 million dollars! $27,000,000!  That's how much this New York City luxury apartment costs.  Let's see...the apartment is listed by Douglas Elliman Realty in NYC.  It is 4 bedrooms, 4 baths with 5,364 square feet inside and over 2000 square feet exterior.  The apartment is in the famed 40 Bond Street building conceived by famed hotelier Ian Schrager.

The home boasts floor to ceiling windows, a modern chef's kitchen with smoked oak cabinets, a master suite with an unbelievable walk in closet and top notch building amenities.

Take a look!

What do you think?  Would you take it or leave it if it was offered to you as a gift?  I would take it!  Hello! Make some tweaks to the oh so neutral staged decor and live happily ever after (or at least live happily until someone offered me a chateau in France or an equally spectacular apartment in Paris)

Happy Monday!

P.S.  Spent the weekend running around with TE...am helping him spruce up his two already lovely outdoor decks that overlook the ocean.  As of right now, things are looking good.  I forgot to take before photos though!

P.P.S.  Hope you have a great week!

BROOKLYN BOUND - A 1200 SQUARE FOOT DUMBO LOFT GETS A $100,000 UPDATE!

Anne Maxwell's nyc loft apartment den with pink lawson fenning chairs, wood floors, and a barn door

This Brooklyn loft belongs to Anne Maxwell Foster, a co-owner in the interior design firm Tilton Fenwick. It was featured on the New York Times website recently.

Maxwell Foster and her husband bought the 1200 square foot 1 bedroom apartment that is located in Dumbo section of Brooklyn for $885,000 last March and then spent almost 3 months updating the space.

The renovation included adding interior barn doors to, transforming a small office into the master bedroom, tearing out the kitchen counters and replacing with Caesarstone quartz counters and changing out cabinet doors...they even transformed a large walk in closet that had a window into a nursery.

After the bones of the space had been renovated...the decorating began.  The designers' goal was to create an inviting atmosphere.

Here's what the updated apartment looks like.

Anne Maxwell's colorful NYC loft apartment's living room with a gray Kravet Medley sofa, armchairs, two side tables with matching ceramic lamps and an Oscar de la Renta coffee table
For the living room, they chose a Kravet Medley Sofa ($5,200), the armchairs were $800 for two on eBay (about $800 and the coffee table is a $6000 Oscar de la Renta piece.

SEE THIS HOUSE: A MULTI MILLION DOLLAR NEW YORK CITY LOFT EXPOSED!

great room and dining room with exposed brick walls, high ceilings and a white sofa faces a wall of large, decorative mirrors mirrors. White eames chairs are around a large wooden table.

I found it. Yoohoo! Yay! Wow! I found my dream apartment in New York City.

It is somewhere on the border between Soho and Tribeca...so I would be close to my best of friend AM who lives in Soho. It is bright, cheerful, modern with just a touch of old world architectural charm.

The penthouse apartment is located at 50 Lispenard Street inside a building built back in 1866 that has been perfectly converted.

This 1900 square foot, 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath NYC loft like apartment is listed for sale by Eklund Stockholm New York for $4.55 million dollars - I think this may be considered affordable by New York standards.  Note to self: come up with $4.55 million dollars immediately before this place is snatched up.

A private elevator lets you out into this upper floor apartment. It has 18 foot ceilings, a skylight in the living room, floating staircase, a glass bridge on the upper floors, 8 inch plank heated wood floors and so much more! Did I mention the gorgeous outdoor decks and terraces some with amazing city views?

Enough said...I'll let the pictures expose all in this lovely city space.

Okay...so what do you think of my new dream apartment? Love it or hate it? Do tell.

I even like the furniture they've chosen which includes some wonderful midcentury classics by Eames and Mies van der Rohe. Nice.

DESIGNING THE PERFECT CITY COURTYARD!

All photos in this post by Coco of COCOCOZY
guest courtyard at the The Greenwich Hotel with stone floors, visible brick walls with arched entryways, potted plants and wooden and wicker arm chairs, tables and benches

So this past Sunday was a busy day for me...after going to a garden party and then attending the Teen Choice Awards (don't ask me why I as an adult was at the Teen Choice Awards), I hopped on a plane on a red eye for a quick trip to NYC.

I am leaving NYC right now but the trip has been fantastic!

I have been staying at The Greenwich Hotel...my favorite hotel in NYC. I love it here.

This is a view of the enchanting guest courtyard at the hotel. A secret courtyard garden of sorts...a place for a wonderful light breakfast or late night drink (had drinks with A.Ro. there last night).

There is something very relaxed about this outdoor living space yet very elegant. Lots of plants...just the right teak furniture...paired with woven French bistro chairs...nothing overly done...but something so right....hmmm...love this...

A lovely refuge in the middle of the city!

I am headed down to the courtyard right now to have a little breakfast with some people before I hop on the plane...I can't wait.

My room wasn't ready when I arrived, so I set up camp in a corner of the hotel's courtyard. (above)

What do you think of this hotel courtyard?  What is your ideal outdoor living space?

Happy Wednesday!
