An exclusive from the pages of next month's House Beautiful! Woo hoo! Love when I get a sneak peek on home that is about to be published.
A Malibu Hills ranch style home newly fashioned by Los Angeles interior design team Todd Nickey and Amy Kehoe of Nickey Kehoe.
Eclectic in Malibu is how I would describe the aesthetic.
In lieu of a traditional chandelier, the living room features a huge red metal mobile by artist Stephen Oakes, poufs covered in Suzani fabric, decorative pillows made of vintage kimono sashes, a "Pollock-esque"wool and silk rug and mid century modern inspired furniture.
In the breakfast nook, a narrow modern rustic table with benches with a bright green embroidered Mexican cloth acting as a table runner.
And perhaps my favorite - the "love" spray painted above the bed in the master bedroom...initially a place holder for just the right piece of art...but now has become a signature decorative statement.
In the master bedroom, "love" is spray painted in blue over the bed and sets the tone for a varied mix of textures and styles. I love the hide rug too. (above) |
A runner made of vintage saris leads up this hillside home's front door - setting the tone for the "collected" style that is inside. (above) |
The House Beautiful article is actually about the use of color in this home. I chose pictures of the more neutral rooms...but if you read the entire article which is on newsstands next week, you'll see an electric blue formal dining room, a bright green kitchen, a yellow and purple family room den and much more.
Follow along on COCOCOZY Pinterest and COCOCOZY Instagram to preview some of the more colorful rooms in this home!
Thank you Sonia and House Beautiful for the first look!
Happy Friday!

P.P.S. Thank you to Sarah from Chevron & Stripes blog for featuring COCOCOZY Cane Throws as a stylish and functional necessity for winter storms!
