THE MOST EXPENSIVE HOME IN AMERICA - SEE THIS HOUSE

Copper Beech Farm Mansion-The most expensive home in America Greenwich
Aerial view of the highest priced home in the country (above)
A $190 million dollar home! Yes it is true.  Built in 1898, this 13,500 square foot mansion sits on 50 acres of land and boasts about one mile of shore front.  It is called Copper Beech Farm.  Located Greenwich, CT, a town known for its unbelievable mansions, the real estate listing says this home "has no peers".

Listed by Christies International Real Estate, this estate has 12 bedrooms, 7 full baths, 2 partial baths, a 12 foot ceilings in the main rooms, paneled library, pool and pool house, greenhouse, a beach, a carriage house, grass tennis court, a separate staff kitchen and spectacular water views.

The home was originally purchased by the Lauder Greenway family in 1904.  Harriet Lauder Greenway whose father helped Andrew Carnegie found U.S. Steel apparently sold it to timber tycoon John Rudey about 30 years ago.  Rudey now, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal a few months back, is selling the Victorian French Renaissance mansion because his children are all grown.

Wow.  Wish I could see more views of the upstairs bedrooms in the home.  Need to assess whether I would spend my $190 million dollars here.  Now...let's say there was a nice person who decided to give me this grand manse, I would take it in a minute...dress it up a bit and settle in right by the pool or walking the gardens.  Would be a great place for parties too.  Anyone offering this home to me?  Hello?  Anyone???

Would you take it or leave it? Do tell!

Happy Friday!

NO DOORS

waterfalls falls kauai hawaii helicopter aerial view

Waterfalls, striking ocean views, secret coves and so much more -- all up close and in vivid color.  I can truly say I've never seen anything so beautiful in my life.

TE took me on a helicopter ride of a lifetime this week.  I agreed to go...but didn't know he had chosen a helicopter with no doors.

I am your classic "fraidy cat".  Would always play it safe when it comes to adventure and risk taking.  Seems TE is not.  So imagine the gulp I took when he cheerfully told me we would be going on an hour long helicopter tour of the island in a chopper with no doors.

Turned out to be one of the most visually incredible experience I have ever had...without a doubt.  I spent the whole ride laughing, smiling, ooohing and ahhhing at the beyond gorgeous scenery.

I took all of these photos sitting in between TE and the pilot right front and center of the helicopter.  An amazing ride.

Not to be too philosophical about a helicopter ride...but maybe there is something to taking a "no doors" attitude on life...taking some risks...moving outside of your comfort zone...pushing the "fraidy cat" aside...maybe?

Oh...for those of you who have not been following me on COCOCOZY Instagram (@COCOCOZY) or COCOCOZY Twitter (@COCOCOZY), am in Kauai (Hawaii) with TE...a little summer vacation for us both.

Enjoying this time off...gathering lots of inspiration for COCOCOZY designs and taking lots of time to just soak in the beauty of it all with TE.   It was his idea to come here.  As my sister said once, "I like TE...he has good ideas."  I agree.

This morning I am up super early blogging...we are going on a 5 hour catamaran ride to the Napali Coast.  TE's idea again.  I am all in...along for the ride without a doubt...with a "no doors" attitude for sure!

Happy Friday!

BIRD'S-EYE VIEW!

bird's eye view of a living room with knotty wood floors, striped black and white wall with two accent windows, white sofa with matching armchairs and glass coffee tables
Light knotty wood floors and a striped black and white wall make a statement in this living room from this angle. (above)

A bird's-eye view of living rooms. Love the perspective of viewing any room from up above. Great way to see how the room's floor plan flows and just cool to get to see a space from an angle that gives you the big picture - an interior aerial of sorts!

Here are four very different spaces...each with their own appeal...a glimpse from above.

Non traditional use of color in this Watermill, NY home works but to balance the designer here kept the seating arrangement in the living very simple and traditional. (above)

Which of these bird's-eye views do you like best?

P.S. Ground Level View on Pinterest - If you would like to see what a few of these rooms look like from down below at ground level, go to COCOCOZY Pinterest. While there, follow along and check out some of my latest pins!

P.P.S.  Loving the Olympics. I am so inspired by these athletes. Perseverance and hard work paying off! Two things: 1.  I feel like I'm turning into a total sap though.  Every time someone wins I cry, every time someone tries really hard I cry, and every time someone loses, I cry.  What's wrong with me?; 2. Have started doing sit ups every time I'm watching the games...makes me feel like I'm doing something!

P.P.P.S.  Running hither and thither lately...will share some fun photos soon.

P.P.P.P.S.  I am prepping for the New York International Gift Fair (NYIGF).  This will be the fourth time I'm showing in NYC.  We just shipped all of our COCOCOZY throws to NY for the COCOCOZY booth yesterday. The fair is 3 weeks away and am still terrified they won't get there! Paranoia! :-)  I'm so jittery about not having goods to show that I hand carry about 150 pillow covers with me to the show each time!

P.P.P.P.S. New to Market - Speaking of the NYIGF...COCOCOZY reader and new friend Beata Henrichs is showing her super duper collection of "throw beds" for the first time at the show. Her line is called Hedge House. The throw beds are totally chic long floor pillows of sorts that you can use inside or out. They are quite fabulous. This is Beata's first show and I am so excited to see her collection...she'll be right down the aisle from the COCOCOZY booth. I've pinned some images of the Hedge House throw beds onto COCOCOZY Pinterest so please check them out.  I predict that these throw beds are going to be a must have in home furnishings!
