HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Al fresco fall dining table setting from Judy Pak Photography

Thanksgiving is almost here! Love the idea of dining al fresco for this autumn holiday. Love this harvest dinner party setting from Judy Pak Photography that I spied on Style Me Pretty. A great look for a city roof top Thanksgiving dinner party.

Spending the holiday with family. Very low key. I am looking forward to a day of rest and a day of being thankful!

TE sent me and my mother some gorgeous fall flowers for our Thanksgiving decor - a mix of flowers in vibrant fall colors. I love them. Am so thankful this holiday to have a sweet guy like TE in my life. I'll post pictures of the flowers on Instagram @cococozy. Follow me there so you can see. Thank you TE!

I have to make a pie tonight and then I'll head over to my mother's house tomorrow morning. Hope your holiday prep is going well!

Happy Wednesday! Happy Thanksgiving!

FALL TEA PARTY

Setting for a casual outdoor fall tea at my tiny little cottage in the Hollywood Hills. (above)
Next weekend, I am having my mom and sister (sis DS) over for a little afternoon tea and some champagne...to celebrate fall.  A quick pause to catch up before the holiday season kicks into full gear.  Weather permitting I will do the little get together on my deck.  It is so nice out on my deck in the Hollywood Hills this time of year.  Still views of green hilltops but the sun casts a different hue than any other time of the year...much warmer autumn light.  I'll serve some champagne, small tea sandwiches, a little legume salad, some sweets are a must, and of course I must offer tea.

Did I ever mention that I love vintage and antique tea cups?   I have just a few but I love them.  I will pull those out for the fall tea.

This past weekend, TE and I were at my house most of the weekend...so yesterday, I convinced him to help me plan out my little tea party.  He was very helpful...he made suggestions on flowers, table linens, glassware and more...I was so impressed.  He also cooked me breakfast while a fussed about trying to get my tea party table setting just right.  Felt quite fortunate...my guy made good style suggestions for my table setting AND cooked me breakfast.  Just so all of you know...after completely indulging me for the morning...TE spent the rest of the afternoon watching his 49ers play football.  A football watching Renaissance man!

Anyhooo...here's my little casual tea party setting styled with a few tabletop pieces I ordered from Horchow and some vintage items from my home.  Ready for a lovely tea with my lovely mom and sister!

Light blue and gold vintage Tuscan Fine English Bone China tea cup
This vintage Tuscan Fine English Bone China cup was manufactured sometime between 1940-1970.  This is a favorite in my collection - love the light blue with gold accents. (above)

I just had to add a bit of modern into the mix by incorporating my own COCOCOZY Logo table linens (a placemat runner and napkins) to complete the look. (above)

Now that I've figured out how everything will look, I must plan out the menu...will do that this week.  Oh one small thing...guess I need to lock in my guests (mom and sis DS) too!!  Lots to do!

I am sure every blogger who has been to NYC in the past year or who lives in NYC has done a post on the store C Wonder (started by Tory Burch's ex husband). Well I haven't so now I'm going to follow the crowd and do my own! I love this cute multi faceted clothing home furnishings jewelry general knick knack store.

Love love love...

Since I was in NY yesterday for a whirlwind 48 hour trip...I managed to pop into the store and found four fabulous goodies that are worth a second glance...wonderful...you see?

Green and white ethnic print ceramic dish ware on a floating, glass shelf with subway tile walls
Ceramic Ikat Dinnerware - $10-$14 (above)

neutral leather rectangle tray with round metal handles
Rectangular Tray with Handles - $88 (above)

Red, white, pink and green enamel bamboo bracelet

Which of these goodies is your favorite? I am partial to the cute metal water bottles...would be perfect for walking up and down Runyon Canyon on the weekends.

P.S.  Talking about over scheduled...for two nights in a row...I had dinner twice.  I double booked - twice...is that a quadruple!  In NYC I had dinner with best of friend AM early on and then met up at 10p with friend A.Ro and had dinner at Locanda again...I don't think I actually ordered though.  Then last night here in Los Angeles, I met AM's hubby JE who was in for just a day and had dinner with him in Beverly Hills and then drove 1 block (yes 1 block) and had dinner with sis DS.  Who does that?

P.P.S.  My NY schedule was whirlwind...back to back meetings, lunches, parties, drinks for two full days.  Am a little pooped...but it was ALL so much fun!

P.P.P.S. Have a great day!
